Jayne Cobb Hat

Here's my interpretation of the Jayne hat, knit top down, with a single crochet bind off for the main hat (which makes it nice and stretchy). Previous attampts resulted in a hat too small. Top down made it easier to make sure it would fit.

Roll on Friday for the opening night of Serenity.

It is finished!

I have at last finished the first sock, so both socks are now done. And here's something special. I added something in duplicate stitch. This is a big hint as to the recipient!
I also received my socks from my pal Lisa B. They are wonderful cotton socks, and I love them lots!

And in late breaking news, I discovered that another of the Greater St Louis Knitters' Guild members, Gwen, is also a sockapaltwoza participant! Nice socks Gwen

sock one very nearly done!

No picture this time, but sock one is nearly done - I have about 1/2 inch of ribbing to do. Oh, and then I have some supersecret duplicate st work to do too...

The vagaries of variegated yarn...

Well, sock one is nearly complete; the heel is done, and I'm just working on the top part of the sock now. But I noticed something. Look closely at the two socks. Look at the foot of the complete sock. See the pooling/flashing? See how that's not there on the ankle part? Now, look at the incomplete sock. The pooling isn't there on the foot, but you can just see that it's there on the ankle that I've just started!

Ah well, such is life... I hope my pal likes fraternal twin socks.

sock on!

Sock one is well on its way. I think with some concerted effort, I could actually get this done in time! I'm still really enjoying this yarn, it's got a lovely feel to it. Much nicer than the sockotta I used for my own socks.

In other news, recent stats show that I'm getting a lot of hits on one particular day of the week... can anyone think why?

Lastly, Football season will be here again soon. Once again, I'll be meeting with some friends for soup and football on Monday nights, which is always good. If you're in the St Louis area, and may be interested in joining us, leave a comment.
